A place where you can enjoy food and music to your heart's content.
Chappy Cafeteria opened in Novemeber of 2015.The manager, Sabo, ran a restaurant in Naha for 15 years but fell in love with the fertile nature in the town of Kin and decided to open a shop there.
I ordered one of the recommendations, Okinawa-style curry. Okinawa-style curry is characterized by the large amount of tumeric it contains. When Mr. Sabo was a child yellow curry was served even for school lunches.
The potatoes are served topped with a fruit juice syrup made by the Ginoza Jam Shop, and the syrup is also for sale in Chappys.
While the portions were large to begin with, you can get free seconds of soup and rice, up to 10 times! Is there anyone who can actually eat that much? There is a performance space inside and they are planning to have live shows once a month, focusing mainly on folk music. A kayak hangs out by the terrace seats, and jumping in the kayak and going fishing is apparently something that happens on occasion.
