The owner said that, “about 60 years ago, this area was covered with pine trees, and it was called Namimatsu. My father named the restaurant ‘Namimatsu Soba’ from that.” When the owner was born, there were no more pine trees, but they must have been beautiful. His father’s memories of the past turned into the name of the restaurant.

Namimatsu Soba opened in 2011. The menu on the wall includes orthodox items like, “Soki Soba” and “rib meat Soba,” but also “curry Soba,” “Kitsune Soba,” and “egg sauce Soba.” The owner, who has trained at a Soba restaurant in Tokyo, reflects his experience in his somewhat unorthodox menu. Surprisingly, the restaurant offers standard Japanese Soba in addition to Okinawa-style Soba.
